My name is Mai and I am a fourth-year medical student and part of the inaugural class at the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine. Having a younger sister with IDD, I am passionate about how the healthcare system can deliver more equitable care for those like my sister and their families. In medical school, I have worked to create mandatory disability education curricula that takes a patient-centered approach, and hope to become a family medicine doctor that can be an advocate for this community in the future. I am so excited to be a founding member of the Advisory Group and be surrounded by others who share the same passion! Â
