Elizabeth “Lizzy” Graham (she/her), is an Autistic transgender woman with ADHD and is a native of the Washington, DC area and resides in Silver Spring in Montgomery County in Maryland. She was diagnosed with ADHD and Asperger’s in her later elementary school years while attending a school for students with learning disabilities. In 2013 she earned her B.A. in Psychology from Marshall University. She entered the IDD field as a direct support professional supporting adults with IDD in staff-supported group homes and supported independent living. Since 2015, she has been working as a Service Coordinator for the Maryland Medicaid Waiver for Children with Autism at The Arc Prince George’s County. Outside of work she is Vice President of Maryland Trans*Unity, a peer-led support group for transgender people based in Montgomery County, MD. She also freelances as a speaker, guest lecturer, and trainer on the lived autistic transgender experience. She is Co-Lead for the Self Advocate Commons of IDD Advocate Corp and a member of The Arc of the United States National Council of Self Advocates. In her remaining free time Lizzy enjoys occasionally playing her accordion and occasionally singing in her church choir, and she enjoys going to see operas at The Metropolitan Opera and The Kennedy Center, cooking in her cast iron skillet, spending time with her cats Mozart and Puccini, and reading.
