Adam is an expert on organizational growth and high-performing teams with deep experience in strategies to expand reach, markets, and scale, and is excited to put clients on a path toward mission fulfillment, operational performance, stakeholder value, or sale. He partners with startup and scaling companies in the $20M - $250M space. 

Professional pursuits are balanced with Adam’s highly visible role as Board Chair of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games and his personal passion as a Special Olympics dad, coach, and Unified Partner. Additionally, Adam is on the advisory board of Fraser Community Services and board member of the professional consulting practice of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. 

Adam spent 20 years in health care at UnitedHealth Group spanning assignments at United Healthcare, UnitedHealth Group, and Optum. He has directed Six Sigma projects and program management, Medicare growth operations, enterprise optimization, vendor relations and acquisition integration efforts. His roles included Chief of Staff to the CEO, delivering the Individual Health Record to 55 million Americans, starting the ProtectWell business during the COVID pandemic, and Chief Operating Officer of Optum’s Growth Office, resulting in record-breaking revenues. Adam is a highly motivated ambassador, champion and facilitator for positive/progressive corporate culture, values-driven leadership, and inclusion of people with disabilities through DEIB and ESG initiatives and national efforts.   

Early accomplishments in Adam’s career came at General Electric, where he grew from call-center representative to Vice President of Operations. Additionally, he founded and served as President for Strategic Solutions Exchange Group, a Lean Six Sigma consulting firm. Adam has led teams in business development, operations, mergers & acquisition, supply chain management, program management, Six Sigma/Lean, e-Commerce / digital, commercial finance, and client service. 

Adam earned a BAB from the University of Minnesota and is a graduate of the GE Management Training Program in Crotonville, NY. He completed his executive education at the Wharton School of Business, Stanford University, and UnitedHealth Group’s General Manager Development program. 

Adam resides in Savage, Minnesota with his wife of 27 years, Sue, and their three boys... He enjoys many outdoors pursuits including the Polar Bear Plunge to support Special Olympics.
